Waste food? or not?

I used to work part-time for a confectionery shop many years ago and I got shock on the first night I was there because they throw away all the small buns [that's what my ex-colleagues called those breads on trays, without any packaging] that they can't sell. All the buns are freshly made on the day itself and sometimes some are still warm when we throw them away! Business wise, maybe it's acceptable since they are only selling fresh buns to customers. But if you talk about wasting food, I think that's like totally unacceptable! I used to asked my supervisor whether there's any other way to dispose these breads like giving them away or something but she told me no because the company wouldn't allow it. After working for some time there, I noticed that there's always someone out there taking away the big bags of buns after the shop was closed. Thank god I always tried to keep the buns clean by separating other waste in other smaller plastic bags because someone needs the buns!

This few days, I saw many people are sharing a video clip in FB, including me. It's about how people are wasting food and starvation. Almost everyone put the same comment for this particular video, saying that they won't waste food anymore.

I've seen this video long ago and back then, the first thing that came to my mind is just like everyone else; try not to waste any food. But this time around, when I was watching this clip, I had a totally different thing in mind. It may sounds absurd [I'm not finding excuses for me to feel better when I waste any food]. It's just that I was thinking, if everyone finished all their foods and there's always no leftover in any restaurant, what are these poor souls going to eat?

So, waste food, or not?

Enlighten me, if you will.

Finish ur food, and dont waste it; likewise, be more generous when donating money n effort for the unfortunates.. It's always better than giving those leftovers to them..
